We offer many different binding options for your natural fiber rug. The Narrow Cotton border is our entry-level border type. Swatches of all border colors are available to order.

The Narrow Cotton border shows 3/4" on the face of the rug and is the narrowest fabric border available. It is top stitched and is only available with lapped/boxed corners. Choose from a wide range of colors. This border is perfect to match and blend to give a borderless appearance to our rugs. The border color shown is Alabaster on our Sand color Boucle Sisal.
The Narrow Faux Leather shows 3/4" on the face of the rug with lapped/boxed corners. It is made of a vegan, vinyl based material that mimics the look and feel of natural leather. Weatherproof and UV stabilized. The corner photo shows the color Brown on the rug color Dune in the Belize Outdoor Sisal.
The Wide Cotton border shows 1-1/4" on the face of the rug when bound. The corners are mitered at no additional charge. This is the most common width border used by our customers. Choose any of the colors below to fit your style. The corner shown is Ivory Blush Wide Cotton on Taupe color Prato Sisal.
The border is top stitched and shows 1-1/4" width on the face of a rug. Includes free mitered corners. The corner shown is Adobe Wide Canvas on color Sand in the Boucle Sisal.
The Serged Edge shows 5/8" on the face of the rug and can be matched to any of the rug colors. All serging yarns are made of a polypropylene material that works great indoors or outdoors. Weatherproof and UV stabilized. The corner pictured is the color #29245 on the color Edgewood of Dorado Sisal.
The Extra Wide Cotton border shows 2-1/4" on the face of the rug when bound. The border comes with our standard top-stitching mitered corners free of charge. You can add Blind/Hidden stitching for an additional cost. The corner shown is the color Navy on Cardamom color Kava Sisal.
Top stitched border that shows 2-1/4" width on the face of rugs. Includes mitered corners at no charge. Blind stitching is available on the Extra Wide Canvas for an additional charge and will show around 2" on the face of the rug once stitched. The Faux Leather border shows 2-1/2" on the face of the rug with mitered corners. It is made of a vegan, vinyl-based fabric that mimics the look and feel of natural leather. Blind/Hidden stitching available. Weatherproof and UV stabilized. The corner photo shows the color Pewter on the rug color Pewter in the Domingo Outdoor Sisal.
The Outdoor Border is made of a Sunbrella Fabric and shows 1" on the face of the rug with lapped/boxed corners. The border is UV stabilized, water-resistant material made to withstand outdoor elements. It is weatherproof and mold / mildew resistant. The corner pictured is the color Linen on the color Aqua Mist in Playa Polysilk Outdoor Rugs.
The Leather border shows 1.5" on the face of the rug and comes standard with Blind/Hidden Stitching. The leather used is high-quality glove leather and gives a sophisticated and tailored look to any space. The corner shown is the color Grey on the Ashland color Dorado Sisal.
Blind/Hidden Stitching refers to the appearance and sewing of the binding. Blind Stitching means that the stitching (thread) on the top of the binding is hidden and not visible. All corners are mitered (finished at an angle like the photo) unless you request a lapped/boxed corner. Blind stitching is standard on Leather and Linen bindings. It is available as an add-on option on Extra Wide Canvas, Extra Wide Cotton, Linen and Faux Leather bindings. It is a very labor intensive hand sewing process and is available for an additional fee per square foot.
Top Stitching is the most common type of border offered on area rugs as it can be machine sewn. Top Stitching means that the stitching (thread) is visible on the top of the binding. We always match the color of the thread to the binding so it blends with the binding and does not contrast.
Provide your own fabric! Our customer's own material (C.O.M) program is a great option! Heres how it works: You find the fabric at a local fabric store (or online), buy it, and ship it to us to use in the manufacturing of your rug. We can send you a quote for applying your fabric on your rug. We'll also tell you how many yards of fabric to buy for the rug you want.
